We are excited to let you know about an amazing opportunity available for all interested 8th grade students who want to apply for CodeRVA. CodeRVA is a Regional Governor's School in Richmond, Virginia that focuses on technology, computer programming and engineering. All CGW 8th Grade students can apply to attend CodeRVA as their High School. If accepted, this would be the high school your student would attend. Hopewell City Public Schools does provide transportation to and from CodeRVA for all accepted students.
Beginning Tuesday, January 2nd, the application process has opened and will remain open until February 17th. If your student is interested, please use the following steps to complete the CodeRVA application:
1. The CodeRVA application is electronic and is available here: https://apply.coderva.org/login 2. Parents/Guardians will need to create an account for your student to complete the application. You can login via Google, Facebook, or create a new account.3. Once you have logged in, at the top of the screen, click "Dashboard"4. In the middle of the new screen, click "Start a New Application"5. Accept the "Requirements & Policies" for CodeRVA and then continue to the application.6. Complete the application no later than February 17th. You can "Save & Exit" at anytime, and return to complete the application anytime before the deadline.
